About

Seamless is a challenge. No new clothes for eight months. Is this even possible in a city with more shopping options than you can shake a stick at? I’m about to find out…

Here in Cardiff we loves a bit of shopping we does. Yet since I first picked up my sewing machine three years ago, I’ve wondered if perhaps this ideal of a whole wardrobe full of high street bargains is a bit overrated. Inspired by other members of the sewing blogosphere, I’ve dived straight in the deep end and abstained from buying any ready-made clothing until July 2012. It looks like I’ll be window shopping for quite some time…

When I’m not spending quality time with my seam-ripper and getting pins stuck in my feet, I’m studying Newspaper Journalism at Cardiff University. You’re probably my soulmate if you love vintage sewing patterns and The Guardian.

Want to tell me how mental I am? Or do you fancy joining me in this self-made mission? Feel free to comment, email me or Tweet me @elenacresci with your thoughts.

I also blog about journalism and other things at http://www.elenacresci.co.uk
